Primary School Improvements in Tortuguero, Costa Rica
Another International service project that is going on right now is significant improvements to the primary school in Tortguero, Costa Rica. Upon visiting this area, it was determined that the school was in great need of several improvements. A grant was filed on behalf of the Rotary Club of Davis to help build the following: a basketball court, adjoining latrine block, and clean water storage facility, stock and furnish a five-room school building with desks, chairs, wall-fitted bookshelves, domestic science equipment storage cabinet, chalkboards. The small school has no adequate provisions for a sport facilities at the present time. They also lack adequate teaching facilities and teaching materials. Through the help of Rotary the students of Tortguero will have better facilities to attend school.
The committe chair for this project is Davis Rotarian Benjamin Lawrance.
Here are the plans for improving the school.

This is inside the highschool. As you can see no ceilings. With ceilings
lighting would have to be improved as well.

Volunteers discuss improvement plans and construction ideas.
