Meals On Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a volunteer program dedicated to delivering meals to senior citizens in the Davis community.  The Elderly Nutrition Program is funded by donations and subsidies from local government.  The Rotary Club of Davis has been supporting this wonderful program for more than 25 years.

How it works:  Food is prepared in Woodland and transported to the Davis Senior Center where it is separated into hot and cold containers.  Our Rotary Club provides 4 drivers a week, two on Thursday and two on Friday.  We report at 10:15 AM, pick up the meals and route map then proceed to deliver the meals mostly to elderly and disabled citizens of Davis.  Each route has approximately 10 to 12 recipients.  It is a very rewarding experience as the driver is in some cases the only person that elderly person sees all day.  This is our way of giving back to those who are in need of assistance.
