Greetings From The President

I'm very honored to have been chosen to be the 2008-2009 President of the Rotary Club of Davis. I look forward to working with Rotarians in our club and worldwide to further the goals of Rotary.

The 2008-2009 Rotary International President, D.K. Lee, has challenged us to "Make Dreams Real" this year. He is urging Rotarians to become involved in clean water, literacy, and health and hunger projects aimed at reducing child mortality. He also is encouraging us to contribute to Rotary’s $100 Million Challenge to eradicate polio.

Rotary does so many great things in the world. The bottom line of being able to achieve so much is membership. New members and membership retention are critical to Rotary's future. The membership of a healthy Rotary club is made up of men and women of different ages, vocations, professions, skills, and talents. A club that is not diversified is less able to conduct ambitious projects and has a narrower range of resources.

Our club has accomplished so much already: child abuse prevention and awareness, drilling water wells in Africa, polio eradication efforts, helping with needy children at a school in Mexico, sponsoring wheelchairs and artificial hands...the list goes on and on. There's a lot more to do. If you're already a member, continue your contributions and think of someone you know who would be an asset to our club.
